Hi, We’re Kayla & Preston
We’re Kayla and Preston — a married couple who spends just as much time planning trips as we do taking them. Tall & Savvy Travels started as a simple way to share our experiences. But over time, we realized the kind of travel content we needed didn’t really exist: practical, honest, and rooted in how real people travel — with limited PTO, real budgets, and a strong preference for not wasting time or money. So we started filling that gap.
We share the full picture — what worked, what didn’t, and what we’d do differently next time. Our version of travel is about noticing what makes a place memorable, asking the questions we wish someone had answered before we booked, and passing that along to you.
You’ll find honest reviews, personal stories, and “TallSavvy” tips here, as well as access to contacting us to plan your next trip.
Favorite Trips
We’ve taken a lot of trips together, but these are the ones we still talk about. Whether it was the views, the people, or how it made us feel, something about these stood out. Take a look at a few of our favorite stops and what we think you should know if you go.
What’s the Story Behind Our Name?
To be honest, It kinda started as a joke because Preston is 6’7” and can’t go anywhere (whether it’s a flight, vacation, or the grocery store) without making friends and being asked if he played football or basketball. Kayla is the one who plans every detail. Whether it’s finding the best cruise itinerary or figuring out which airport lounge is actually worth it, she’s the savvy half of the team.
So, Tall & Savvy came together pretty quickly because it just made sense — simple, true, and a pretty good summary of how we travel together.

Why You Can Trust Our Travel Advice
We don’t work with destinations we haven’t experienced ourselves, and every recommendation on this site comes from firsthand travel. Whether it’s exploring a new Caribbean beach, testing a cruise shore excursion or finding affordable all-inclusive options, our advice comes from trips we’ve actually taken.
